Does anybody know the vendor (not Whaler) who makes that tackle box located behind the backrest on the cooler seat?

Jon, not positive, but in BoatersWorld catalog. It's a Teak Isle product 2 tray or 4 tray #47-974-0565

Thanks for your help. That box looks similar to the one on a friends boat. I called Whaler and obviously, the won't tell me who makes it but will gladly sell me one for $295 and that does not include the cushion which is another $210.

My two cents.
I have found at least 6 manufacturers of unit tacklebox hatches. I bought one, touted as super-duper starboard material etc... It has no seal around the hatch door so its not worth my time to install it..
Check it out first. I will post links to the manufacturers that I found if you are interested.

That's a shame. I think we have all bought a thing or two in the past that just isn't what we were looking for. As far as this hatch search goes, Tempress makes an "access tackle hatch" that looks like it will do the trick and claims to be water tight. Only problem is that once I mount the back cushion to it, I will no longer be able to access the handle to unlock it. As I recall, the one from Whaler is a magnetic latch.
