I have a 1995 Outrage 21 and I am thinking about putting a full-fledged marine head in the bow locker area. With a shelter up and a curtain over the entrance, it might give the ladies a sense of privacy. Also it would avoid the messy porta-potti routine. Anyone out there try this?

My wife takes a squirt right over the side just like I do. |

Not to degrade your idea at all, I think it is original and functionally not bad, but I would not modify my boat in this way. I used to have a 1996 21 Outrage, so I am familiar with your layout. I think you might make the boat difficult to sell because of its new uniqueness, which would be a double loss on your investment. I would just keep the port-potti stored in the locker until needed. Or like a friend of mine mentioned, "she'll eventually get in the water if she waits long enough". Capt. Tully Mars |

DR DAN,For a "full-fledged marine head" installation, you would need at minimum; a marine toilet, separate holding tank, thru-hull for the intake, and gunnel-mounted pump out fitting as well as the necessary hose connections. IMO the bow area would be the least desireable location for a head and the stern the best. I'd keep the porta-potty. Steve |
