Does anybody have experience with the 16SL? How does it compare to the Classic Montauk in terms of performance and useability as a general family and fishing boat?

We have had a 16SL for a year now and its a great boat for a family, seats six in comfort, has lots of storage in the dual consoles and a big ski locker in the deck.

She is well fitted out with good quality cleats etc no panel delamination even after 9 years use as a patrol boat and is in good shape after 10 years. The hull is a deeper v style which rides well in chop.

we use her for family trips typicaly 4 aduls and 2 children, for fishing and towing a ring all of which are a pleasure on this boat.

powered by a 90hp mercury 2stroke with a laser2 prop 22 pitch Wasp will reach 45mph by gps at wot, and cruise comfortaby at 25-30 mph between 3500-4000 rpm.

hope this helps.
regards chris

Thanks Chris.

The locker in the bottom of the boat seems like a great feature.
