Is fishing on an OUTRAGE 23 cramped with three or four people? Even though I have never seen an OUTRGE 23 up close and in person, it seems to me that it would be cramped when fishing with four people aboard. This boat should have a long range with the right motors.

Depends how fat the people are and how much beer you have aboard. Other than that, the boat is awesome and will outperform 6 fisherdudes. If you crappie fish, you may handle 15 aboard, or the max cap plate requirements....;)

It depend what type of fishing you are doing I usually do not like to have any more than 4 on my 23. Trolling, or throwing plugs. You can do more than 4 if you are bottom fishing

I mostly troll and bottom fish offshore the Texas coast.

I find that I can fish 4 people comfortably on my 23 Conquest when trolling or drifting (bottom fishing). When trolling I stack 2 lines per each downrigger.

The Outrage has even more deck space and 360 degrees open to the water. Should be no problem.

My buddy has a 23 Conquest and it has acres of room for two fishermen, I can't imagine it being anything like cramped with four either. It's a great boat.

Maybe I need to fish in one so I can get the "feel" of it.

I have a 23 Outrage and you can fish, and seat, 5 with fairly good comfort and 4 for sure. I have pictures to prove it. Just click on the link on my profile.

It all depends on what type of fishing you
are doing. If you are bottom fishing and the
weather is not bad,4 or 5 people would be fine.
Now if the seas kick up the bow of the boat
will be the last place I would like to fish
while anchored up.

If you are trolling 2 or 3 people seem to
work best for me.

Jd,
The 23 Outrage is a nice family boat, but if your looking for room to fish don't bother...In my opinion, the boat is actually a 21'.(due to the lack of useable floor space, and oversized Euro-transom)The boat would be seriously cramped with 3 anglers aboard.
I fish the Chesapeake Bay for Stripers and Bluefish in the Spring. Summer and fall I'm offshore for Tuna, Dolphin, Wahoo, and White Marlin. (I fish out of a 1991 Outrage 25'with twin 150's) This model has PLENTY of ROOM, and handles great too. Its a great Whaler hull and built to last....Homey

Thanks for all the help. I think that i am going to go with the 23 after all. I would like to get a 25, but with the bank not wanting to give up enough and with the problems that the 1986 - 1990 models had, I think that it will be better to go with the 23. Now all i have to do is find one without merc's.

Thanks again,

JD
