Hi Everyone,

I am getting a 2005 170 and while trying to take delivery (more about that in a later post) Inoticed that the console had 5 switches instead of what Ithought was normally 4. I noticed a "stereo" switch in addition to the other standard switches.

Is this new for 2005? I had the dealer install twin batteries. Is it possible that an additional switch is part of the package?

Not complaining....just curious.

Thanks,

Alan

This is a new switch added to the montauk. Many of the models have had stereo switches in the past. Whaler uses the same dash pannel for all Montauks whether you get the stereo option or not. It is not because of the Dual batteries.

THE UTILIZATION of an additional rocker switch on dash..dedicated to a stereo..is too prevent battery drain due to modern stereos with their led/lcd displays and the units being still on after pushing the off/on power knobs or buttons...ultimately low battery situations occur over time due to the clock function of the stereos

I have a fresh water switch on my panel. No pump, no faucet. They just build them all the same and you can do what you want with the extra switches.
