Need access to inside of console

Can anyone offer advice as to how to get to areas in the console of te 170 that may be difficult to reach to cut holes and screw in leads? I am 6'0, 200 lbs and the door is small to say the least.
Has anyone tried removing the tackle box holder on the side of the console temporarily to gain access to the inside of the console. Is it easy and painless to put back.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Alan, I'm 6' and 225lbs and I can get most of my torso in there to do what I need to do. I first empty out the console and even remove the battery and battery box. Try laying on your left side so your head is inline with the open doorway of the console. I then "elbow" my way in there and can get reasonable access to just about anything. Nope, it aint comfy but it works.

Cut the holes from the outside.
For screwing in leads, get a screwdriver that has a screwholder.
