Well, had the sweet lady (my boat not the wife) out on the water to try our hand at some Red Snapper. Seas were a mere 2-4 feet and 10 knot winds out of the east.
1 hour out of Pensacola Pass, we came up next to a Cape Horn and a Proline. Both were on a wreck and neither were catching fish.
White caps started to increase and before we knew it, we were in 3-5 seas with a north easterly wind with sustained gusts.
Time to come back in.
Snapper won this round. Beauty of it all, a sunny day and a whaler no matter what. On our way in the Pelicans were tearing up the glass minnows.
As we approached our marina, another whaler, a 17 Montauk loaded for fishing was headed south.
lasty, we pulled out of the ramp and we saw a family of 4 launching their 150 sport.
Whaler country got to love it!
One side note... The Coast Guard launched their RHIB and were headed out to patrol the state, federal Waters for Snapper violaters. They were armed with the standard issue weapons and they surely didnt look like "kids" to me.
God bless em.
