Well, its April 22, and Ive already beat my old record by being out in Das Boat three times in the Potomac this year VS last year when I first hit the water MAy 15th in the Chesapeake Bay! And those three days have been great weather here in Maryland, two in the 70s , and one in the high 85's...
Nice thing about "Das Boat is that when you do all the winter maint. right, there just isn't much that has to be done to get her back in the water the following year...Theres no wood to re-due, yes there painiting (for the Potomac), theres polishing and washing, checking things out, but after that...your spalshing her in...I was kinda suprized as for years I had a Pro-line 21 with lots of wood, and an old engine etc...Like nite and day:) I can't remember how many days I was out last year from MAy 15-Thanksgiving, but Im trying to be out even more this year..not working helps me obtain these wonderful results:)) To all those that do...learn to play hooky more...Ill be waiting......I hear the weather up north is pretty crummy and its even gonan snow in some places...all I can say is move somewere warmer....Dec-March drives me nuts!!!

A year later..Im still loving this Nantucket!...I look at lots of whalers but this one is a sweat heart. Not to big, not to small, economical...easy to take care of and launch or trailer anywere...

Now if I can only get some people to play hooky more often, or hurry and get in the water....there be WHalers in the Potomac:)

My newly delivered 2005 Nantucket is sitting in indoor storage waiting for the Lake Erie weather to cooperate...hopefully next week after we get past 5-12 inches of snow this weekend. Very, very jealous of your early entry into this boating season. Thanks for your assistance this past Winter. Boat on!!

Your welcome JoJo...sorry to hear about the weather though........I got a lot of info here as well when I was choosing my Whaler....other's experience and expertise really helped me decide esily on the Nantucket....I could have gone to a used outrage, or some other used Whaler, not to mention al the other new WHalers...I narrowed it down to My Nantucket and a 18 Daut. and the price difference was like 14 thou. differnece so I choose the Nantucket for all the other reasons too:) You will love her...This Nantucket is a Whaler witha big ride feel, secure and responsive...even with my 115-2.......Safe boating:))

I have been out twice in mine, yet have been shut out the last two weeks due to baseball. I am shooting for this coming Thursday. I am glad you love your Nantucket; I love mine as well. The "not too big not too small" three bears analogy is right on.

Hoping I can swing that Chesapeake trip this year...Sal

Sal! Good to see you on here...Oh MY, that would be great to have you down for the Teaparty, or anytime my friend:) There is some great Whalering down here and we would give you the grand tour, soup and nuts!!! I have said it beofre...I have nothing but praise for this Nantucket!
Weather hasn't been to great but Ive managed to get her in the water early and get out...all it does it wet my wissle for more! Because I have three dogs and wated them along...I bought Life vests for them and actually bought a ton of "AquaMats" placing them to save the anit-slip decking...but I found they didnt allow for a good clean up after an outing unless I pulled much of a pain, so I pulled them last time out...

Was day dreaming about what the Nantucket would look like with aft rails on eith side of her...even some teak here and there...Daydreaming ona non-boating day:) hehe

I know its a haul, but do try and come down if not for the Teaparty, then another weekend or even during the week ....I garentee you will love the boating down here...
