I am planning on launching my new Nantucket this Friday after dealer in-water instruction. The question I have for this forum is this: The boat in currently stored in-doors, I am excited about working on her and have the time this week, so....should I wax the hull? If so, how and with what? And, is there anything I should do, since the boat will never be in this condition again? Thanks in adance to everyone!!

I have a 2004 Nantucket. I use "Protect
all" on the entire boat. It goes on easy and keeps the boat nice (slippery to the touch), be careful around the non slip areas. I wax it in the beginning and at the end of the season.

Be careful launching at low water (depending on your ramp). The bow may bang the trailer as the stern floats off the trailer.

I love my Nantucket I am sure you will love your's as well.

Also a 2004 Nantucket owner...When I got "Das BOAT" I wax her like 3 times...although The Dealer and I put her in the water for seatrail first, I just washed her off later and added lots of Top GRade Wax! and back in she went! Ive yet to bang the hull launching, although most of the time, I have her in a nice big slip, ready to go......I wax my boats every chance I get@!!!!

I had the local West Marine salesman enthusisatically recommend West Marine or Starbrite Teflon Polish to apply prior to spring launch for my whaler. It went on easy, & also buffed without alot of effort. Shiny slippery finish prevents dirt from digging in & makes washing easier, & gives a pretty good UV barrier.

All of my friends use and swear by Starbrite with Teflon. They wax once per year and it lasts all season. I've bought it for my Nantucket but haven't had a dry weekend to put it on yet.
