I'm getting tired off scrubbing off all the scuff marks from me and my buddy's cheap hardware store rain boots. Anybody have a good recommendation for good deck boots that will keep out the slashes of the Pacific and save me some elbow grease?

There's always the option of using Cajun Reeboks. They are the white rubber boots that shrimpers wear. Easy to clean, and they don't leave marks. They're also called clamming boots. You should be able to find them at anyplace that caters to commercial fisherman. BillS

Strain,
Find a pair of sailing boots. Mine are made by Vredestein. The are blue with a white sure grip sole, with a nylon collar around the top to keep water out and I've been wearing them on boats for tenty years.

I've had both the Gil and HiSea's. They both work and wear well. I put arch supports in them and am comfortable all day. Both are available from boaters world for $39.95.

Dubarry Marine Footwear is the best, in my opinion. The outsole's series of interlocking channels provides incredible traction. The Mirapel leather is top-notch, as well. Of course, they are more expensive than, say, Sebago or Sperry, but the product is definitely superior.

My crew and I have Xtra Tuff deck boots. No marks from these on Whaler non-skid deck. I heard Rod Rack in Hayward has them.

Here's what they look like.
