Tempo Tank for Montauk ?

I installed the 12 Gallon Tempo tank 1 in my whaler. I have the following questions:
1. The fuel gauge is on the top. How do you check it for fuel status? Or you don't and jiggle the tank to get a rough idea.
2. Should I change the fuel hose fittings to tempo ones so they can couple with the line coming from the tank?
Thank you very much.

Please ignore my 2nd question on the previous post.

I just jiggle the tank, or if the sun is right I can see the level of fuel. I have two tanks so I always switch tanks and leave plenty in the first tank in case I run the second dry.

I do the same as Waterguy.

gorji, a couple of more ideas: While "the price is right" so-to-speak with regard to the 12 gallon Tempo tank, the fuel guage is one of its weak links. Another way around the fuel gauge if you have a chartplotter installed in your boat is to just monitor the number of miles you have gone. After a few times out, you wil have a good idea of how far you can go on a full tank and can use that as a baseline. Short of that, and if you don't have a chartplotter, just do what waterguy and oysterman do and jiggle your tank.

I will someday get the Pate Tank. For now these will have to do.
