Hello My name is Adam and I recently purchased a 16SL model BW...I really love the boat(so far...I've only had it for a week).....I wrote a bit about my likes and dislikes in the previous 16 SL thread on this forum..see link below

http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/002120.html

my question now is in regards to the possibilty of attaching a trolling motor to this model or similar BW models such as the montauck...first question...is it possible????....I am an avid fisherman so having a trolling motor is a great option..if possible...which make, size, is recommended??....again if possible I imagine that most guys mount the trolling motor to the stern being that the bow has no room at all.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks

Adam

On the back of our SL16 WASP we have an auxilliary outboard mount on the port side, this was fitted not for fishing but as a safety measure when the boat was a patrol boat. My brother Chris may have details of what was mounted there but we have managed a couple of hours trolling with no apparent ill effects for our Mercury 90 2 stroke, it,s not a fishing method we use very much here though.

Adam...One of the nice simple wasys of attaching a trolling motor is to get the kind that actually mounts on the gas motor itself.look at any of the major fishing catologs and you find them.
I like these units because you do not have to drill any holes in the hull( I have a thing about that) keeps the deck free of clutter. As with anything nothing is perfict, and a matter of personal preferance, the more people you talk to the more you will be confident as what to purchase for your needs. There are drawbacks to any trolling motor, bow, stern, motor mounted depending on your intended use.Fresh or salt water, shallow water, weeds, rocks etc. also the type of fishing you do and where....good luck in your decision.
