Where is a graph showing the speed of 170 Montauk with a four-stroke 90-HP Mercury. At 3000-RPM what is the speed?

Many things affect boat speed:
4.Knowing how to trim
5.Water conditions.

Bottom line---slice it anyway you want-there is no "Set Speed" the boat should go.

There is a simple formula. [Gives formula to deduce speed by observation of time and distance.] By the way, do you think Boston Whaler could afford to give us a speedo on the 170? Come on!!! Woodee

The propeller choice will have a very significant influence.

Boston Whaler has kindly tested and recorded this data, and made it available for you online in a convenient form. They have similar information for all their models.
