Howdy!!! Im new to this site, in fact, this is my first post. I just bought a 1991 17' outrage with a evinrude 120 this week from My wifes uncle. Ultra low hours and garage kept. I got it for $5,000. Brought the kids and wife today for our maiden voyage. Went to a local lake with a stiff wind we had a 1' to 2' chop. The boat handled it flaulessly. I hope to have her for many years. Glad I found this site.

Congrats on the new-to-you Outrage! $5000?!?! WOW, what a deal! We paid considerably more for our '95, and I feel that we got a pretty good deal. We've had ours for about a month now and absolutely love it! Your's must be pretty quick with a 120 on it? I haven't clocked ours with the GPS yet, but she seems to do somewhere around ~43 mph, and that's with a '04 Merc 90 4 stroke. I would guess you should get a good solid 50 mph with that 120. We're planning to keep ours for a long time too, I hope I can keep her in the shape she is now! For future posts with general questions about your OR 17, I suggest posting on the general form as our Outrage 17 (version I > '90-'95) is considered a "classic" Whaler due to it's design being closer to the older Whalers rather then the newer ones. I love it's look, the cream/tan gelcoat, and the bow looks so agressive from another boat. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your 17 as much as we're enjoying ours and this forum is an excellent resource!

Yes, great price. Stay away from that uncle, he may want to collect on that 2nd installment...
