What is the dry weight of the 95 17' Montauk? I have seen several different weights and need to know the weight so I can estimate towing capacity for my vehicle.

According to my Boston Whaler origional catalog the weight is 900 lbs
to figure your towing weight you will need the weight of:
boat
motor
fuel tank full
battery
radio,fish finder,compass
anchor with line
life jacketts, flair and first aid kits
bimini top
covers
and then 100lbs for mics.
trailer
add weight of winch, tongue jack and side guildes.
check the owners manual of your tow vehicle for towing capacity and to see if you will require brakes on the trailer.
good luck.

If you have a vehicle with a Class II receiver hitch and 3,500 capacity, you should be fine with this boat.

That means smaller/midsize SUV (Not the miniatures) a full-size sedan with the above capacities. You're going to be towing at less than #2,500, however the #1,000 cushion is nice, because it allows you to fill the vehicle up with people and gear too.
