I recently drove a 2006 Conquest 205 (formerly Eastport) with a 150 Verado. It seemed underpowered with this motor.......but was a pretty sweet ride nonetheless. I'm considering trading my Nantucket 190/ 150 Optimax for a new 205 with a 175 HP Verado & trim tabs & other goodies, mainly to have a porta potti & samll cabin & still be able to trailer it. Any thoughts or comments or downside to this swap?
The 205 Eastport with all the goodies lists @ $58,500.
Thanks, Steve

I have an Eastport 205 --- its a great boat. Get the cabin V-birth filler option, you can then sleep two in the cabin.

Holy Cow!!!!! 58,000.00!!!GEEEZE! thats a savings of 30,000.00!!!!!!!!! if I keep my 2004 Nantucket (Das Boat), I do most of my boating on the lower Potomac...If I need a potty...I can find one for less than 30,000.00!!!!

How much more of a ride is the 20?????the Verado is heavyer isnt it Stevilad????How fast could you go in the Verado 150??? Average the MPH over what you do by the 30,000.00!!! Need a place to lay down...spend a grand and get a forward dodger:)))

Well at least thats my opinion at a first glnace...I was on that 20 at the Annapol. show and I didnt see that much more boat...sorry....

If your gonna get more boat look at the Conquest in the 25-30 range! Now thats more boat....nothin personal...jMHO

It does seem like a big jump in money for a little jump in boat.

That cabin is mainly used for storage, overnighting would be like camping. For the money, minor mods to the Nantucket would give you most of what you need.

Otherwise if you're going to go up, go up

I purchased an Eastport 205 and pick it up tomorrow powered with the 200 Optimax. Send me an email in a week and I will let you know how it performs. No trim tabs on my boat.

I looked at this boat too, but ultimately decided to go with a 99-00 Conquest 21...more boat (holds 10 vice 8 souls, bigger cabin, heavier weight, more freeboard as well as more accessory options standard). All for relatively less money (approx. $32K or what a new 19 foot center console is going for). It's a buyer's market now with fuel prices high. Only reason to buy new is to get the Verado, but I am perfectly happy with the 200 hp Optimax.

In my opinion, the 21 and 26 Conquests were the best of th e line...

I'd look for a used 21 if I were you.

I have to third the older 21 conquest! I have a 2000 with a 200 optimax. In my opinion the older ones are built more along the lines of the conquest line. The new ones dont seem as solid.

for about 2/3 of that, you could pick up a used Conquest 23 with hardtop and twins. BillS

My 1997 23 CON w/ 225 EFI is still for sale.

Asking price $34K, had a recent offer of $32K and will let it go at that if the buyer can't close.

389 hours, very good condition!!
