I would like to get some info on the unusual Boston Whaler Impact.
Why were there only made I think 2001 and 2001 ?
Anything wrong with these boats?
How do they handle? would like to hear from anyone who has one. Thanks

Hey Jimmy, nice to see you!

I did a quick search here on "impact." I couldn't find anyone who owned one, and I couldn't find anyone who liked them. You might take a look...

I think BW discontinued them because they simply didn't sell. They are heavy and expensive for their size, have limited on-deck space (this for a boat that was supposed to serve as a yacht tender), and are downright ugly (some have likened it to a soapdish).

Hi Sheila, looked all over still can,t find much information on this boat.
looked at NADA they show values only for 2001 and 2002.
they show the value on a 2001 at $9100 to 10,990 WHOW !
seams like a lot of money for a boat nobody wants.
Understand they were about $14,000 new....a ton of money for a 12 ft. boat.
I figured the name IMPACT is from the woopie cushion around the boat so you can hit (impact) the dock.
The thing sure has a unusual hull design from what I can see.Maybe thats why nobody wants to bone up to owning one.
One of Whalers ugly ducklings ?

We never ordered one for stock or ever sold one. Price played a big part in the lack of sales. They were designed similar to an inflatable style boat so they wouldn't damage your yacht. We have a 210 impact at our dealership as a work boat. This was built for a similar purpose. We can pull up to other boats to tow them without doing any damage. Great design, not cheap though.
