I have a 2002 130 SPORT. The console is ruined by the installation of all things, a drink holder recessed into the only spot suitable for mounting a compass or fishfinder. Was this dealer-installed, dealer-ruined? Any suggestions on what I can do [to repair or replace the cup holder so that a compass or fishfinder can be mounted in that place] without totally messing up the console? |

A Ritchie F50 compass will perfectly replace one of Whaler's drink holders with no additional cutting. This was one of the first mods I made to my 150 Sport. http://www.engr.udayton.edu/staff/lriggins/Whaler/Dash2.jpg -- |

I mounted my 178C GPS on the curved portion of the console behind wheel and just to the right of centerline. Use a piece of 3/4" plastic cut to match the round profile of the mounting bracket base. Hollow out the bottom on a belt sander, or by hand, to fit the contour of console. This provided a nice stable surface to secure the electronics bracket. The flat surface doesn't need to be level (front to back)since you will be tilting the electronics up to see them anyway. A compass is the one thing I have not added (chart plotter works great). I keep a hand held in the console for emergency. I find the drink holder useful. It holds the Hand Held VHF or drinks while fishing. -Joe |

I did the same as Fish Stick on my '05 130 Sport and it works great. |
