These are the final modifications. I have had several requests to post finished pictures of the stereo installation and bait tank. http://www.allcoastsportfishing.com/photos/showgallery.php/cat/500/ ppuser/104452 The stereo sounds great! Not perfect sitting on top of the speakers, but really good, even better up front, and plenty loud. I could easily hear it at WOT. The stereo is an Aquatics CD unit. Totally stainless and waterproof apparently. Speakers are Bose 151 SE. A mounting plate for the stereo was cut from 16 ga stainless and powder coated white. With all the discussion of the 150 Montauk bait tank, I wanted to included details on what I did. The bait tank is a Kodiak 22 gallon oval model. There is a transom mount 500 gph pump, with a PVC valve to control the flow. The pump is removable when not in use, with quick connectors for the wiring and hoses. The pump can also be set on the cockpit floor, to use as a bilge pump, if necessary. The tank works well and there is room to walk around each side of it. The motor can also be tilted all the way up with the tank installed. Boat planes just fine, with the extra weight. It takes a few seconds longer and the bow is a little higher, but no need for a Doel Fin, like on the 130. The 60 hp big foot makes a big difference. With all this work finally complete (except for maybe an Ipod), I wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions and comments. The pictures and descriptions I have posted will hopefully be as helpful to you as your pictures and suggestions have been for me. -Joe |
