I noticed while looking at a 150 Montauk at a dealer that the steering was stiff when turning the wheel in both directions. If I bought this boat, I would probably upgrade to hydraulic steering unless there was much improvement.

I have this boat and love it, but the steering is quite stiff. I have about 8 hours on it and it has seemed to loosen up a bit. I will have dealer look at it when I take it in for its first service.

I presume this boat uses the Teleflex no-feedback steering that's also used on the 160 Dauntless and 170 Montauk, among others. There's a fairly recent thread that talks about this:
