I am new to this website but have been following Boston Whaler boats for some time. I was searching the web one day about three weeks ago and came across a link about a new 190 MONTAUK and a new 20-foot OUTRAGE, but the target of the hyperlink wouldn't open. [This couldn't have been a link on CONTINUOUSWAVE. We hate dead links and remove them whenever we find them--jimh.] At first I didn't think much of it until I saw a picture of the 190 Montauk. Then I thought maybe there will be a 20-foot OUTRAGE. It doesn't make any sense to have a 20-foot OUTRAGE when they have the 190 and the 210 OUTRAGE unless they are getting rid of the 190 and the 210. Maybe just renaming the 210. Has anyone heard anything on this? I'm planning on the purchase of a Boston Whaler boat this year for fishing the intracoastal and for diving in the Keys. I will consider the 190 or 210 OUTRAGE unless they change something.

Chestertowne's website mentions a 20 Outrage on their website, in the context of talking up their upcoming demo day. However I think that it is in fact a 20 ft Dauntless, and it can be seen on one of the threads in the GAM forum, as can images of the 190 Montauk.

That could quite possibly be what I had seen. Thanks

Thing is that on the official Boston Whaler web page you can get a link to a blankpage for the Outrage 20.

It may well be the Outrage 190 is gone. Seems logical in that withn the Montauck 190 they would want a step up to an Outrage 200.

I will be sad but that is the way of progress. The moment I saw the Montauk190 I knew the Outrage/Nantucket 190 days were numbered. If they can price the 200 in about the same as the 190 then they have a logical step up.

I wish it were not true but it is looking like it is, oh well, so it goes.

highanddry, you can make that Boston Whaler blank page into anything you like. Wanna see a 22 ft Outrage appear?

I don't think the 190 Outrage is going anywhere. My local dealer can't keep up with the demand for them. As soon as he gets them on the lot, they are sold.

The discussion and photographs of the 190 MONTAUK which are mentioned above were posted on 05-21-2006, so it could not have been what you saw three weeks ago.

It is more likely you read other discussions on CONTINUOUSWAVE about the 190 MONTAUK. It was also mentioned several weeks ago, and the first digital images of it were mentioned at that time. See:

http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/012074.html

That discussion mentions a prior one, even earlier:

http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/011478.html

There were also some other oblique references to the new model but without giving the model name which occured between January and May.

So readers of CONTINUOUSWAVE have been informed of the 190 OUTRAGE since January of this year.

The 200 DAUNTLESS model was also mentioned on 5-22-2006.

I have never heard any mention of a new 20-foot OUTRAGE model. If you discover where you heard and saw of that boat, please mention the URI.

Perry, I figured as much and I am glad the good ol'NanTub will hang around a bit more, maybe, as I told the Montauk 170 guys pursing their lips at the anouncement of the 190, don't let it bother you, the boat you have is the one you liked, the one that fit in your garage and tows behind your car and fit your budget and nothing changes that, Outrage 200, Montauk 210 or whatever.

thanks guys, it didn't make much sense to me for boston whaler to change hulls that quickly, although in the last 3-4 years they have been changing a bit with new sizes in the conquest and outrage lines.

Also... i will be spending my 3 day weekend about half a mile north of the whaler factory (my wifes aunt and uncle live on the river in edgewater)and we'll be there all weekend.
I'll keep a camera handy for any 190 montauks

Does anyone have any pictures of the new 380 Outrage with the triple Verados?

Just kidding. Have a safe and fun holiday weekend everybody.

Phil

That is a humorous quirk of the Boston Whaler website. Generate URI's on the fly for boats that don't exist.
