I have a 28 Conquest with a Horizon windlass. Windlass circuit breaker isolator trips periodically. What would cause this to happen? After resetting it works fine.

Thanks for your help

Does the breaker trip at the first operation of the windlass? If so, something (bearing, etc) might be binding and causing a higher than normal current draw. Another possibility is a weak breaker.

Breaker trips when anchor is almost up, think it may be caused by chain entering windless, possibly overheating?

Sounds like something is possibly binding.
