Anybody running a 24 outrage with a single 250 Verado? I'm looking at 2005 now and was wondering about the performance. Seems a little on the short side with the HP.

Thanks!!

BS

I have an 03 with a opti 225. Not exactly what you were asking, but I can tell you that there are times I wish I had a little more power. That said, I don't need to go from point a to point b with my hair on fire. I will do 38 - 39 with a full tank and 4 of us on the boat with all fishing gear. If it were me and I was buying new I would go with the 275 Verado as the hp to the prop on the 250 is similar to the 225 opti. (or so I have read).

bigstick,
i have a '98 Outrage 23 wich is almost identical to yours and 2 Yamaha F150 rigged.
If you use your boat mainly in 2 people and some gear 150 HP will be ok, but if you go 10+ miles offshore with 4+ people, gear, ice, freshwater, etc, put a 275 hp on it or wait until the 300 HP Suzuki is available. Navigating under nasty conditions and beeing short on ponies is no fun.

Consider also a double rig, the only backdraw is the price.

Fropm my point of view, more HP won't mean more speed but lower rpm at cruising speed and the knowing that there is some more power to use when/if you need it.

best regards

Chris
