I posted another topic which now raises another question. The 3 position switch on the console works on "ON" and does its thing on "Auto" but never shuts off the pump totally on "OFF". Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to rewire? I'm told that if I shut the pump off (I assume in the "OFF" position, I can leave the boat in the water overnight with the plug out and rain water will simply not acummulate, nor will the pump run.

Try cleaning the pump. Sounds like the float on the pump is stuck.

Sorry, misread your problem. I would change out the switch.
