I got to say thanks to Continuous Wave again...Purchased a Mooring cover from Mills for Das Boat and need more info on the install......and of course it was all here right down to a pick of the hooks installed.

Install took about an hor and a half as I was enjoying a sunny 70's day off the Potomac and on..........Since moving down to right off the Potomac.....Ive had more junk land up in my boat in its lift than I used to get in my slip at the Marina, so I decided to end my collection of falling leaves in DAs Boat., and Im glad I did......

What a great cover too!

But again, this list made it easy as all the info was here to make the job go easy..........THanks JIM, Continuous Wave!!!

Glad it went well.

I'm really glad I have a Mills Mooring Cover on the 170. Because we live the hot deep south I had a local shop add vents at the console area.

I just ordered another one for the 11 footer. Although it probably cost more than the boat itself is worth, this will replace a lifetime of tarps and frustration. The cover will be the same color, Captain Navy. Jim

Barney, So its your pic I used to see what the hooks loked like on the boat:))) Thanks so much.......Your mooring cover is nice too:) Im suprized that the bow rails go through...My Bow Rails are covered with the mooring cover....see mills page on the nantucket...

Heres a question...the flap on the the corners you tie them down...what do you do..leave the center flap loose???? Will that harm the cover when towing in your experience??? Dont tow much...but wondering....thanks for the nice comments...Im so glad to keep the leaves out!!!!

My best, Henry AKA THE YIDDIL

Hey Henry,

I hope yours is designed like mine. This is kind of hard to explain so here it goes, the first paragraph is a set up:

Stern Corner Lines:
The "Corner Lines" are the lines that secure the canvas stern corners to the boat stern eyes. Each corner line comes from the canvas to and thru the stern eyes (I will call this Corner Line 'Section 1') and back to and clipped to the rings on the stern canvas (I will call this Corner Line 'Section 2').

Flap Lines:
The flap lines are looped around each Corner Line 'Section 1' of the stern corner lines described above. This keeps the flap from flapping too much while you are towing boat and trailer.

Also a trick for installation each time is to put the canvas on the stern corners last after you have clipped the corner lines on.

To remove pull the stern corners first.

I am thinking about a morring cover for my 21 Outrage. Can I ask how much the cover for your boat cost?

barney, Ill take another look at it..............I just tied them up real good and left them ...not sure if I did exactly what you describe, but I will...

I was just asking so as not to damage it when and if I tow the puppy I know the flapping would fry things.....

Cost of a 21 outrage mooring not know, but you can call Mills on their toll free number and ask Susanne and she can tell you..........prices are not posted on the sire to the best of my knowledge......I Have a Nantucket...and thats a differnt boat than a 21 Outrage....

Barney take a pic of the tie ups in the back and send it to me please..I do better witha pic:) Thanks

Sorry Henry, after I wrote that I wanted to take it back. Reads like a technical manual. We've misplaced the camera but it will turn up, we used it on the boat last ;). I will post it here so others can see it.

mcmahojo just sit down when you call Mills for a price. Jim

Mcmahojo, I had a terrific mooring cover made locally for my 21 Outrage. I had them make the cover go completely down the sides since we get a lot of sun all year in Tampa. This does a wonderful job of protecting the gel coat. I haven't seen very many that fit this nice. Kinda expensive, but worth it to me.

Our Ventura came with one...and I would never be without one again. Can't believe how well kept the interior is now. And I don't worry about water--it rolls off like Mercury droplets.
