Hello All,
I am considering my first boat and I plan to make it an 18-20 foot Outrage. After reading many of the posts and information you all have provided I am still a little confused. Were the hull changes made to the V20's in the late 70's an improvement or not. I plan to use this boat for a combination of diving, island hopping and fishing off of the California coast. It seems like the 78 and 79 Outrages are much less expensive than the later model (say 82-85) models. Is this because they are older models? Could it be just the cross section units that hapen to be available? I know from past experiences that sometimes an item that is appreciably lower than the other comparable items might indicate a less desireable product. Can somebody please help straighten me out. I would like to make the best possible choice for my first experience.

You first need to decide if you want an 18 or a 20. Then determine what species. The 18 only has one species, but the 20 has undergone some "speciation" as it evolved. The v-20, the 20 from the mid-80's and the post-classic.

Knowing what you're referring to will help us to help you.
