Over the winter I completed several small modifications to our Nantucket.

1) Added Roll Control tanks racks to both gunwales and removed the temporary rig from the forward console and restored the cooler to that location

2) Constructed a larger custom made Starboard tranducer block allowing me to relocate my Humminbird 987c transducer and make room for another second transducer if needed. Relocated the current transducer to the inner strake about 12 inches from center to center on the left stern. Had been midway between inner and outer strake--kicked up a lot of spray there. Built a small spray shield.

3) Purchased Navionics Hot Maps for USA and chart 15XG for the Gulf with high detail fish chip

4) purchased a cheapo back up hand held marine radio from Wally World

5)New four blade Merc prop and Mirage goes to spares duty

6)added new three step dive ladder on the swim step--in addition to the standard swim ladder

7)new trailer bearing and adjusted brakes.

8)new Good Year Marathon radials on the ground and two new spare bias plys.

9) new water pump impeller

10) removed the "tackle box" from the forward console area making more room for useful equipment storage.

H&D, what 4 blade Mercury prop did you get, and how does it perform compared to the Mirage? Is the new one a Revolution 4? I switched to a 4 blade prop and am really impressed with its overall performance.

Do you still have the original drum brakes or did you install disks?

No, I still have the drum brakes. I am not going to invest in discs until I also at least invest in a torsion axle or a new trailer. I may just do some work on the trailer I have to upgrade it with the torsion axle, disc brakes and additional padding, guides etc.

The prop is a Revolution 4 with 15P. I have not had the boat in the water yet. I hope that this prop will lift the boat more, especially the stern, perhaps help with the porposing, get better mid range and better out of the hole acceleration when heavily laoded. Note--I am not unhappy with the Mirage Plus but what the heck.

Future mods will include tabs but only so much moola for the boat projects--lol.

I also hope that relocating the transducer inboard--12 inch from center line does not cause problem with the prop etc??
