Topic:   2003 mercury throttle control friction problem

posted 07-09-2007 11:32 AM ET (US)         I have a 2003 Whaler with twin 225 four stroke mercury outboards; one of the throttle cables is too loose to the point where in mildly rough conditions it will lower itself by 500-1000 rpm unless I keep my hand on it. Is there a friction adjustment on these controls; any help locating it may save me a bunch of money! The controls are the twin engine, plastic silver cap with trim adjustments on the port side throttle. John
