Just curious if anyone has had any problems with the baitwell tanks leaking from oversplash and sloshing on the larger Boston Whaler Outrage boats? Just did detailed inspection of a new 320 Outrage today, and noticed that the bait tank is totally open around the top. You can see the raw fiberglass of the leaning post console when you look up under the lid area on the inside. Can't help but think that water WILL slosh while under way, and get up and over the lip and rim of the tank and leak somewhere. Wish I had a pic of it to show. Anyway, seems kind of poorly thought out--but hey, these boats have been around a while so maybe I'm just nit picking. Thanks for your input.

Come on, nobody has seen this or has an opinion on it? I put a down payment on a new 320 OUTRAGE for delivery in August so it's not a major [problem] for me, but I would think that there are at least a few people with some experience and advice on the [problem]. Anyone? Can't believe that I'm the only one to notice this, or have worries about it.

I have a 2002 Dauntless 180 with a fish box/bait tank in the reversible pilot seat. While it is not the same thing as the bait well in the Outrage 320, it appears to have the same weak sealing system as the one shown in the photos of the Outrage 320 bait well on the Boston Whaler website. On my boat, the seat flips up, and there is a black rubber gasket attached to the bottom of the seat, which looks similar to the gasket on the underside of the bait station lid on the Outrage 320.

The few times that I have used my bait tank to hold fish, I had significant problems with water leaking out the top while I was underway. As a result, I no longer use it as a fish box/bait tank. I put a plug in the drain, and I now use it for dry storage.

Looking at the pictures of the Outrage 320 bait tank, it looks like you may experience the same problem. There does not appear to be any type of gasket on the bait tank lid, and the gasket on the bait station lid looks like the same gasket I have, will leaks.

Good luck. Let us know how it works out for you.
