Hey guys, for those who have installed a BayStar hydraulic steering on their 170 Montauk, can you please show me pictures?
Thanks

Thanks for the pictures.
I have a question on how you mounted the cylinder.
In the install guide it says to mount it from the bottom if the Mercury motor is 2002 and newer.

In your picture it's mounted ontop.

What year is your motor? Did you do the install yourself?

Hi,
My motor was a 2003 and I installed the cylinder per the instructions supplied with the Baystar system that I received. Has it changed? Not sure. I have since sold this Whaler so I can not check the instructions. In any case it mounted perfectly and operated smoothly, no issues. I did the installation myself in a weekend including replacing the tilt tube with a stainless one. Everything was very straightforward with the hardest part running the hydraulic line through the tunnel. I did have some help bleeding the lines but anyone can help with that task.

TTWhaler,
Make sure you replace the tilt tube with the stainless one and the stainless nuts as well. This along with the BayStar will eliminate your steering issues!
