Is the gelcoat on newer Boston Whalers vinylester? We have a 2006.

I recently read an article in a fishing/boating magazine which stated that vinylester gelcoat layups are higher quality than the more common polyester type gelcoats.

Nope, don't think so. Just good old foam and glass.

I remember when vinylester resins were introduced that the claim was that they were more expensive but more resistant to osmotic blistering.
