Can anyone recommend a good ladder that will work for bow boarding from beach type landings? Before buying a gunwale type hook ladder I was wondering if anyone has had an luck. Thanks!

Glad you asked this question as I have a 2001 23 Conquest and was trying to figure out the same thing. I purchased a rope ladder but it did not work as you swing under the bow trying to use it. I have been looking for a ladder that would hook onto the hand rail and lean againt the rail of the boat so as to give you two points to keep the ladder straight when you climb it. My idea is to get a ladder like on the back of the boat and add an extension to it so it can hook on the rail and the ladder would extend out like off the back of the boat. It would be hingered where the extension is added so it could be folded for easier storage. I an still playing with the idea but maybe someone has already come up with a solution and hope they see your e-mail.

I've been thinking of buying a rope ladder to get over the side of the boat. How do they work for that? Pros & cons?

Page 48 of the March edition of BoatUS Magazine contains an article regarding ladders. They even used a Montauk 170 in their testing!
