posted 10-20-2008 09:05 AM ET (US)         Could someone explain how the Garlick pedistal is mounted on my '98 Ventura 18? Specifically, what sort of screws go through the deck? I would like to change the pedestal to a height adjustable type but am concerned that the pedestal may have been mounted prior to the floor going into the boat. Right now everything is tight and solid, so I don"t want to back out any screws which I can't re-tighten. Are these machine screws with nuts on the back? If so, how would I replace the base?
