Anybody has any suggestions where to purchase a water tight storage container that will fit under the Sport 150 console next to the battery. I am looking for a place to store papers, flare, fire extinguisher, etc. ?
How did you secure it?

I have the tackle box compartment on the front of the console.

I currently have a small igloo ice chest under the outboard motor bungeed to the transom but with the cube and a second 74 qt. ice igloo back there already it is getting pretty cluttered.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hey I found that that the Igloo marine 25 QT fits perfect under the console.

I also had a snap pop off one of my cousions. I found a snap replacement kit at the local big box store for under $3.00.

I use a Plano watertight orange "ammo" box. I believe they come in 3 sizes. You won't get a fire extinguisher in it but everything else should fit. I use mine as a "ditch" box. Flares, SOS light, batteries for the handheld VHF, paperwork, a few tools, etc. I think Wal-mart carries them. Most marine stores do, too. I don't secure it. It doesn't get bounced around much in the console.

Fire extinguisher should be on the outside where it's
immediately accessible.

If you want serious waterpoof: http://www.pelican.com .
There are eight of them on my whaler, in various sizes.

Make sure the snaps you bought are stainless so they don't rust. If they aren't, then you can pickup some stainless snaps at your favorite boating store. You should still be able to use the snap repair tool provided in the kit you already bought.

A small cooler works fine under the console. The one I used to use rarely moved. If it ends up sliding you can attach a bungie cord or screw a strip of Starboard on the floor behind it. The "waterproof" duffle bag I use now fits partially behind the battery, so it doesn't move at all. Plus, it's less bulky than a cooler.

Chuck is right, make your fire extinguisher readily accessable. Mine came from the dealer installed on the center post of the rear bench.
