Finished breaking in my new 150 Sport and was very impressed on how little gas it burned. I, in a round about way, took her across Lake Pontchartrain and back. I fully expected to burn more gas than 6 gallons. The Mercury ran for more than 4 hours and I ran her dry as I pulled up on the trailer.

The way she took the chop was impressive!

Feel I have to watch I don't get to confident as the Lake whips up quickly.

My 70 Suzuki would burn about 2-2.5gph at cruise. My 40 does less so you are probably in the middle between the 2. I could run a constant 3 hours at cruise with the 6 gal tank. The 40 probably 5 hours.

You will appreciate your boat's efficiency even more when gas prices return to $4.00/gal.

The 150 Sport is a great boat! I have never had one but I did have a 130 Sport and I had 150 envy. :)

Now I have a Ventura 20 I love the boat, but she uses about SIX(6) gallons per hour on average. Not too bad at $1.50 per gallon but I cried filling her up when it was $4.25
