I'm thinking about adding a bimini to a new 150 Montauk. I'm looking for opinions on going aftermarket or dealer installed OEM.

A comparable aftermarket bimini is running about half the cost of a Dealer installed OEM. Aftermarket quote includes all stainless bows and components, Sunbrella frabric and installation.

Are there hull warranty implications going aftermarket?

I would also ask my BW dealer that warranty question.

Wow, I just checked the price of a factory bimini. I think after market would be the way to go. Just make sure of the quality of the workmanship. You can also choose a color besides black.

I ordered a custom motor cover through www.iboats.com
Quality was excellent. I got it in forest green Sunbrella.

Iboats has a large selection of bimini tops available by 3 different manufacturers. One is TaylorMade. I had a boat cover for my old Alumacraft boat by them. Workmanship, materials and fit were excellent.

I worked with Great Lakes and got them to a reasonable price for a bimini for my 150 Montauk. Now I'm looking for the orignal canvas installation diagram from Boston Whaler. I looked on www.whalerparts.com and could not find it amongst the several other drawings there.

Does anyone have the 2008 150 Montauk Canvas installation drawing?

Thanks in advance.

I called Boston Whaler and they sent me at nice document of where supports need to be mounted. If anyone would like a copy, I'd be more than happy to pass the PDF file along.

Do you mount the supports on a track? I have a 2 foot long track on each side of my boat (Dauntless 14). It is nice when folding it up. You can slide it forward or all the way aft.
If you are supposed to just put a single mount on the gunwale why not try a rail mount for the top. No holes to drill. If that suits your fancy.
