Has anyone installed additional towing eyes on the transom [of a Boston Whaler 190 MONTAUK]? The stock eyes are too close to the centerline, and you can't pull anything without [the tow line] rubbing hard against the lower unit [of the outboard motor].

I got a shop drawing of the [WhaleBoard] in the transom; it's not on the website. Boston Whaler sent it to me upon request. Whaler says they haven't tested [other locations for the towing eyes], so they can't recommend placement. The reinforcement doesn't come all the way up to the top corners of the transom.

Use of a long towing bridle might relieve the interference between the towing lines and the engine midsection. Use of a spreader might also help with the towing line rigging

We tried everything. I don't know if the lower unit on the 135 Verado is larger (deeper) than the 115, but there isn't any way to work around it. Whaler suggested installing an aftermarket post, but I don't want to botch up the boat.

Check out this link http://www.wellingtoninc.com/watersports/towropes.htm

They have plenty of bridals in many lengths
