Your local Boston Whaler dealer can get for you. Is this boat not in current production?

Great Lakes Boat Top Company

My bimini had their tag on it and I called them and had them make me a console cover for a 2001 18 Dauntless that matched spot on.

They are located in Tennessee, Verona if my memory is not mistaken.

Personally, I would go with Mills. I had them make me covers for my 170. The fit and quality was great. The covers that can with the new Dauntless were made by Great Lakes. The canvas is thinner and the fit is not as good.

I called Great Lakes for some custom work I wanted to their production, off the line, Montauk 170 console cover. They told me that they didn't do custom work. Mills was all too receptive to my inquiry and asked for my requirements right off the bat.

My 2 cents.

I'm not sure where you located but a friend of mine just got a new 190 Montauk and rather than get the console cover PLUS the RPS cover, I suggested he get one cover made for both. The 2003 170 I bought used had a custom cover with it and it is great. It gives you additional dry storage under the cover between the console and RPS. I'm not sure why Whaler doesn't offer this as an option.

He went to a local custom canvas shop in North East, Maryland. I would suggest any custom shop that does boat covers or upholstery in your area can do this.

That's an excellent idea wbullwin.
I purchased two separate covers and had I known that I could have had one made for my 170 Montauk I would have purchased it. I can't remember a time when I just used one w/o the other.

Has anyone asked Mills to do the one cover for the CC and RPS? Any observations that would discourage someone from going with one instead of two?

Just a note that Pauls Custom Canvas in Denver, CO does a lot of custom whaler canvas. They did a Stainless Bimini and a custom cover for my boat and a custom cover for my dad's '84 outrage. All of our stuff has been first rate and all for a very reasonable price.

They do a lot of work for a Whaler dealer in Denver and can probably pull dimesions or confirm fit on a whaler if you are out of town.

Might check them out:
