I just wanted to post here and tell everyone how excited I am to be a new Boston Whaler owner! We picked up a 2007 170 Montauk with a 90HP Mercury two days ago. It had only 24 hours on it and warranty until 2013. We took her on our maiden voyage yesterday and it was an absolute pleasure. This Whaler lives with us in Wye Mills, Maryland. Looking forward to new Whaler-friends and using this board as a resource.

Congratulations and welcome!

As a 2006 Montauk 170 owner I can say with the utmost certainty you are going to love your new Boston Whaler.

Welcome to the family. You now own without a doubt one of the most popular Whalers and will get an enormous amount of memories from her. Let us know if we can help. Again Welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard and congratulations! I also have an '07 Montauk and it is indeed a great boat. You have alot of resources on this board when you want to do some "improvements" or modifications. The most popular seems to be installing a larger fuel tank or tanks. CLK has some great pics of a recent install of a 26 gallon tank under his RPS. Hope you enjoy your new boat,

Congrats on your new purchase. I recently (Sept. 2008) purchased a 2006 170. I really put it to good use this past weekend for the first time, I could not have been happier. When I picked mine up last fall I went ahead and had a routine service performed, it had only 11 hours, all I could think was why would someone have put so few hours on this boat. I later found out the first owner was really a sailor. My family loves it, we're looking forward to many great days out on it.

Congratulations!! Great boat!! And you live in a great area for that boat. I am up at the top of the Bay on Turkey Point, so because of the way the Bay can kick up, I have trailed my 2003 170 to either Chestertown or the Wye River to do day trips. A friend of mine just got a 190, so this Summer we are going to trail them down and do the loop around the Wye and head over to St. Michael's for lunch. We'll look for you.
