So I've been waiting about 2 months to get my engine registration paperwork from Mercury. I called this morning only to find out my Verado 150 was not registered in my name. Somehow the guy who bought my 170 had that engine and my new one registered in HIS name. I just got off the phone with the dealer who is not sure what and how it happened. They are going to call Mercury and hopefully straighten things out. The odd part was the new engine was originally in my name but about a month ago it was cancelled.

Exactly the reason I recommend calling the mfr the week after buying any big serialized product and asking, "Who owns the following ser #?"

Believe me, I did call once a week the 1st few weeks. What I found out was most dealers, I least mine take about a month to send in their paperwork. At 6 weeks my new engine was registered to me. I found it odd that I had not received any paperwork from Mercury yet, that was the reason for the call today. How and why the engine went from my name to others is beyond me. I personally think someone at my dealership screwed up the paperwork. Hell, I'm still waiting for the state of PA to send me my dam registration numbers. I hope to have them sometime this week. The had no problem cashing my check 7 weeks ago.
