Does anyone know why the 2009 19 outrage has a higher horsepower rating than my 2004 nantucket even though the boats seem to be identical.

Could be the higher horsepower weighs (transom rating) the same.

According to previous posts on this issue there are no differences between the model years. This is probably a marketing strategy by BW to justify an increase in price.

I [may] upgrade to more horsepower as my merc 115 fourstroke seems a little weak and Im trying to target optimal horsepower.

I currently have the 08 190 Outrage with the 150 Verado. I'm very happy with this power. I don't know if the 200 hp would have been my choice if it was available that year. I suppose the price would have been a consideration.

My 2006 190 outrage has the 150 verado and I feel thats all the power the boat needs. I am a bit of a motorhead and I can't think of a time where I needed more than 150 horses even with a full boat. I would probably buy the 200 if I was buying today..but I don't think its necessary! My 2 cents

The Nantucket and the Outrage are identical..the rating are based on the model year and what BW wanted to stick on the end. And no, you cant swap out model year plates unless you have one:))) Now I think there up to 200 Verado's!!!!You may get more horses, but your getting much more weight which changes your trim:) Henry

I think the 150 and 200 verados weigh the same (both straight 4 models not the big 6). I believe the only real difference between the 150 and the new 200 is the smaller blower pulley on the charger and remapped fuel system. The two motors are the same displacement and weight if I remember correctly.
