I'd like to put my 170 on floor stands in my garage so I could take my trailer in for service.

I've never done this before.

Can anyone tell me how I can accomplish this for cheap? Other options?

I've seen some boat stands, but they are very expensive for what I'm trying to do.

If using boat stands, would I deflate the tires to get the boat on the stands?

Thanks
John

cinderblocks with some lumber between the blocks and the hull; two mounds at the stern, and one at the bow.

What kind of service requires you to remove the boat from the trailer?

There's pretty substantial rust

I did this once on a 26" SeaRay. Lower the tongue as low as you can, pile cinderblocks at the two back corners with lumber on top as tight as you can, and then crank the trailer back up. As it is going up, the back of the boat will stay where it was and the trailer will slowly drop away from the hull. Once up, jack up the bow and slowly pull the trailer out. You will have to put in another pile of blocks and lumber as the cross members and axle get to your first pile. Then pull and put in a new pile. It takes a little while to keep moving the front piles until the trailer is out from under. If you have a BIG tree, you could hang the bow and pull it out.

Could you leave the boat in the water for awhile?
