Hello,

I am a new owner of a 2004 130 Sport w/ Comfort package and sun shade. After working through a couple of bugs, things are going great. I read many a post on this site before buying the boat, and have read many more since. Thanks to the community.

My
I purchased the boat with the cushion for the front seat (next to side console) missing. I am thinking that it would be cool to install a mahogany seat in place of the cushion. Has anyone done anything like this?

Thanks,
Peter

congrats on the new boat, I have a 2004 130 sport and love it.

Regarding the seat you want to replace...a couple of thoughts.

In my boat that seat seldom gets used. If there are two people we are either both on the rear seat, or the wife is up front being lazy. If there are four people it is almost necessary to put two people up front to balance the boat. 5 people (adults) is really too many for that boat.

That said, if it were up to me, I would remove the darn thing and make the boat a bit less cluttered.

If you plan to actually use that seat..keep in mind that the 130 can take a toll on your butt, the cushion is a nice thing! :)

I agree on the need for the cushions!

I would get rid of that seat altogether. Mine (130 SS, 2009) came without any seating there at all and it's better with no clutter. It's already a small boat, so space is at a premium.

Congratulations!
