How is the Ventura with the new engine setup? Did you take any pictures or video?

I have been wondering, have not seen you around these parts in a while...

I've been lazy ... not really. I had my current Opti serviced in August and was very happy with the compression checks and overall condition of motor I chose to continue using it. The new Opti is sitting in my garage in still in the box. Old friends are hard to say goodbye to. My current Opti has a little over 3600 hours on it.

Master Chief Tom, I have same hull and motor.

At what point (if ever) did you replace oil lines leading from reservoir to under the cowl?

As a preventative maintenance measure, I am considering replacing 10 year old lines in spring. The loss of the line while operating a DFI would be catastrophic.

Have you been using E10 in NC? Any impact or did you consider adding a 10 micron inline? Merc does not recommend for Opti but I am curious if you did anyway.

Ten years on the oil lines is good ... I'm still running the originals installed in 2002. As to E10 ... I'm been very fortunate haven't had to run E10 to date .... we have two gas stations in Greenville that pump none E10. As to filters outside the cowling ... I haven't given it much thought one way or the other ..... I change my on motor one every three months.
