After spending the winter months in storage, I took my 190 out on Lake Erie yesterday. Hooked the battery up the night before and all looked well. In the morning when we launched my buddy yells "purr kitty kitty" just before I turned the key to start her. And purr she did. The 135 Verado ran flawlessly. Fishing could have been better though. We were out on the western basin of Erie targeting Walleye. But all and all, a successful first trip. Looking forward to many more this season.

You guys in business yet?

How do you like your 190? I am the owner of a 16 Dauntless which is a terrific little boat but I have my eye on the 190 Montauk as a future upgrade. The interior size, storage and fishing features seem to make for a nice rig. Any issues? Is the power and speed of a 135 hp adequate?

Love the boat.
Bought new last August.
Issues? Had an issue with the navigation light and a trailer strap crushing the speed sensor wheel. Whaler took care of both. I was/am very pleased with BW's warranty service. Top notch.

Its an excellent fishing boat that is perfect for my family as well.

A majority of the advice that I received when I researched the purchase suggested the Verado 135 over the 115 standard. the Verado is a very impressive motor. (They no longer make the 135, its been replaced it with a 150. More power, but more $.) For what I do, 135 horse is plenty of power. I have had the boat up to 42mph on a flat Lake Erie and had it down to 1.4mph trolling for Walleye. Again, for what I do, its perfect.
