Was wondering if someone who has quick access to the subject boat can provide the inside dimensions of the anchor locker. I am looking at what size anchor will fit comfortably. I went onto the BW website resources and tried to find the specifications, but that was not available (at least that I could find) Thanks |

Hi Mike, You asked this a long time ago, but this past weekend I remembered to measure my anchor locker. My boat is a 2003, but I doubt there's any difference. Across the back: approx 29 inches wide at the top, 20 inches wide at the bottom. This width carries forward about 4 inches from the back, forward from there the width tapers. I didn't measure the depth, but I'd guess it to be about 12-14 inches. Across the front: approx 14 inches wide at the top (the front is curved), 3 inches wide at the bottom. I didn't measure the depth, but I'd guess it to be about 10 inches. Front-to-back (centerline): approx 18 inches at the top, 11 inches at the bottom. In addition, there is a slot for the anchor shank about 3.5 inches wide that extends an additional 6-7 inches forward, tapering from about 10 inches deep at the front of the anchor well to 1-2 inches deep at the bow gunwale. My anchor is a Danforth that is 19 inches long and perhaps 14 inches wide. Looking at the Danforth website, it's probably the S300 5-pound model. It fits plenty well, but it's a marginal anchor for the boat and tends to drag in strong wind. The next size up, the S600, is 24 inches long and would be at best a very tight fit. Maybe the Danforth 5H hi-tensile anchor would be a good choice, at 21.5 inches by 16.5 inches. -Bob |

Wow...I really appreciate the detailed response and pictures. Very much appreciated. This is exactly what I need. I will do some measuring to see what I can come up with. I will be visiting the lake house where my boat is in storage and taking it out for the summer. I intend to get an anchor and have it waiting there when I arrive. Your information will do the trick. Again, many thanks. Mike |
