I own an [2003] Sport 150 with with an E-Z-Loader trailer. The front cross member on the starboard side of the trailer has cracked where it is attached. It has dropped down about 3/4-inch. Now the bow is reasting heavily on the front roller. Has anyone else had this problem. I guess my only option is to weld a piece in to support the bunk. Anyone else had a simular situation? |

Vink, I replaced those attachments with hot dipped galvanized pieces from Champion trailer. The attachments from E-Z-Loader are zinc coated and don't last. http://www.championtrailers.com/jckrlrub.html#bunkbrackets Use part "A" I also found the part at a local sporting goods store. |

I had the same 2003 SPORT 150 and [E-Z-LOADER] trailer. I removed the crossmember and had it repaired at a welding shop. Then saw a small crack starting on the opposite side. I took a lot of pictures and plan to at least let [E-Z-LOADER] know about the problem. |

Barney: Galvanizing IS zinc coating. Vink: How about some pictures? Chuck |

Chuck, There is a difference. Zinc coated is not hot dipped. Jim |

From this article: http://www.mechanicsupport.com/galvanize.html What is the difference between zinc and galvanized? Both zinc plating and galvanizing applies a zinc plating. So they both use zinc. The big difference is in thickness, zinc plating is typically 3 microns thick. so you get 10 times the protection with galvanizing. But this is off track as the problem looks like a cross member not the attachment. Jim |

Thanks for the replies. It is the cross member and NOT the support. |

I'm curious to know exactly what component of the trailer is being discussed here. I have a galvanized EZLoader trailer as well (12 seasons old) and I'd like to see what damage has occurred. Is this a saltwater application? I see you're in NH, but I suppose that could be either. Any pictures? If you don't have a means to host them, send me an email and I will host them. Thanks. |

Today I took the trailer apart and removed the crossmember. My neighbor who owns a machine shop welded the cracks then made a gussett that he welded on top of the crossmember. This piece can now support the QUEEN MARY. I will e-mail David pictures of the completed project so you can post them. I've never had success posting pics on this site. |

That sounds great. Can you get the part hot dip galvanized somewhere? I found the minimum charge to be around $140 here locally. Jim |
