I have a 2007 190 Outrage with a VERADO 150, complete with Smartcraft gauges as set-up in the factory. Is the Trolling function optional? Or, is it standard in the set-up? How do I use it? I looked thru the manual and couldn't find anything about it.

Alfred--Page 12 illustrates how to engage and disengage the troll feature.

I started using mine by just fooling around with it. As soon as you touch the troll buttons the screen will tell you what to do, when to engage the engine (or disengage it). It is a great tool and pretty easy to figure out once you get the feel of it.

Alfred, not to steal your thread, but I am in the market for a 190 Outrage and will appreciate any commnents you have about how the boat handles. I will use it for a variety of purposes to include skiing and tubing, as well as fishing. My experience has been with the Montauk and Dauntless so I am much less familiar with the handling characteristics of the Outrage hull. With the deeper hull does it plane well, are you pleased with lateral stability, etc. Thanks for any help.

Mtwilling, sorry I didn't post earlier, but I am on the road and didn't get to check in.

I like mine, it's just the right size to single handle and the layout is decent. Comes with just the right options for fishing if you get the fishing package. She, like every boat I know off, has some issues, but nothing that would deter me from buying another.

She bow steers at low speed but trimming up helps a little.

She does not have a bow roller and it's not possible to fit a pulpit.

The bow light always has moisture in it, but having said that, after 2 years, it's still working.

The consul is not as rigid as I would like, but I boat in very rough seas.

If you are heavy (I am 95kg), you will get spider cracks on the pedestal seat mount area, if you are on the seat in lumpy water. I would prefer the leaning post, but I have a young one that is only comfortable if he is on the seat directly behind me when I am at the wheel, we are flying along.

When you finish for the day, you will find that you cannot get all of the water under the stern starboard seat insert to drain and you have to sponge it out.

The trailer tongue is way too short, so launching at shallow ramps can be a pain, but fitting glides take care of the problem.

With the deeper V she does not ride as flat as the classic 18 or Montauk (I have had both), but she is so much more comfortable on the go.

She benefits with trim tabs fitted.

Now don't get me wrong, she is a great boat, handles nicely, pops up on plane fast, solid as a rock, finished well and the fittings are top class.

Accessibility to the rigging tunnel and fuel hose fittings is miles ahead of the 18 Outrage. There are more inspection ports on the boat in most of the right places.

Inspires confidence on the water and does not have the tendency to broach.

For an open small boat, she is pretty dry compared to alot of boats the same size.

I love mine.

Hope this helps.
