Although it is hard to know who to believe in our salmon wars, the rumor has it that this year looks to be a "Banner" year. As usual I'll be launching the Tiburonito (170 Montauk) out of Moss Landing, possibly Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz saw a crazy finish to the season last year with salmon returning to the harbor.... Every time I take the 170 out I think about how well it handles the bay, of course I do pick and choose my days out. Work used to do that for me, but I just retired; so now I'll be doing the picking and choosing! see ya all out on the water!..Joe

I will likely be out there on the first day of salmon season. Most probably launching out of moss landing in my montauk 170.

Exactly two weeks, fellas! I'll be heading out of Bodega Bay in our partnership forty-year-old Revenge prototype, 'Strike3', opening day, weather permitting. Sure hope I do better than I did last year.

Tight lines,

We'll be fishing opening weekend aboard Namequoit (say Nam-uh-coy) out of Santa Cruz. It's an Outrage 22 Cuddy with a black T-top, give a wave if you see us, or hail us on 11 if you find the fish. We had a decent season last year, with a bonanza day near the end getting fast limits inside the mile buoy. I'm looking forward to a fun and productive fishing season.
