After replacing the fuel tank on my 1995 Outrage 21, I'm in the process of re-rigging -- and, in many cases, fixing -- much of the console wiring. On my boat, the helm switches are labeled as follows: Anchor/Navigation Lights Manual Bilge Aft Courtesy Lights Fresh Water Pump Salt Water Fishwell Pumpout Spare - On my boat this controls a deck light on the T-top The saltwater pump is located under the console; as I recall, there is a water intake on the outside of the hull, and water is delivered through a hose fitting in the sternwell. The fishwell pump is mounted on a bracket on the exterior of the transom. I'm drawing a blank on the freshwater pump. A brown-green wire leads away from this helm switch, but the looms under the console are so thick it's difficult to determine where it goes without a lot of poking around. I know a few of you have Outrage models of similar size and vintage. Could this have been an option that the original owner of my boat didn't buy? If a freshwater pump were there, where would I find it?

Frank,It is doubtful you have a freshwater pump on your Outrage. It would be easier for you to find the freshwater tank and follow the outlet hose to the pump than to follow the wires. Some freshwater pumps are located at or on the freshwater tank outlet. Butch |

That's all pretty much what I thought. Where are freshwater tanks normally mounted on these boats?Since there doesn't seem to be one on my boat, it's curious that the brown-green wire is there -- I wonder where it terminates? |

You might want to check whalerparts.com and click on the 1998 210 Outrage which is the same as your boat. You'll see the different configurations of options regarding pumps. If you don't have a fresh water tank inside the console then either your boat wasn't spec'd with one when the boat was built or someone removed it. You could have up to the four pumps on that boat. 1. Fresh water pump with tank under the console. 2. Raw water/ livewell pump inside the leaning post. 3. fishbox pump under the motorwell for pumping out you indeck fish boxes. 4. Bilge pump. |

The optional 20 gallon fresh water tank is mounted directly astern the fuel tank underneath the main deck. |

Thanks. Definitely not there on my boat.

I have just finished adding the fresh water tank option to my 1994 24'Outrage. Chuck Bennet from Whaler was nice enough to supply me with the original equipment list and build diagrams for adding the Deck Shower option. The 15 gal tank is located below the center consol and forward of the pota potty. The deck shower and deck fill are located on the forward side of the consol. The wiring was already located in the loom and routed to the location of the pump. I'm really looking forward to having fresh water on-board for a quick rinse, keeping the boat clean on camping trips and rinsing fishing gear after use. |

Frank, on our year Outrage 21 the fresh water tank is located in the center console strapped to the forward "wall". It is a 15-gallon plastic tank with the pump mounted on the rear wall. I can supply pictures in needed. Tom |

Tom is correct. I had the fresh water shower option on my 1997 21 Outrage. Tank was mounted inside the console and pump was mounted pretty close to where the salt water washdown pump is mounted in the console.I removed the fresh water system. I wanted to free up room in the console for dry storage. Plus the inside of the console was always damp from the condensation that formed on the outside of the tank. Rich |
